Keeping up with Narratives of Cognitive Dissonance
A couple things I have noticed in the “reaction” to the trucks heading to Ottawa.
1. The idea that ‘People who attended the Rally in 100 Mile are “far right-wing, anti-vaxxers” ‘
While I am unable to report beyond the local scene, I did personally engage with many, if not most, of the participants at the 100 Mile Boulevard Party. From these interactions I can conclude that anything that puts a label on this large of a group, in its entirety, is absurd!
Both the labels “right-wing” and “anti-vaxxer” rely on a false dichotomy. Use of these terms indicate that the person using them has not overcome a Cognitive Dissonance which creates a perceived separation and duality (fear) inside of their own sense of being.
The main topic which I discussed with people at the rally was the prospect of increased localism, local solidarity and getting back to working in comm-unity. Almost all showed a fair bit of enthusiasm to hear about such ideas of holocracy and cooperation, both of which are ideas that transcend the left/right false dichotomy.
There is no External Authority which is coming to save you. It’s in us - you and me living in our community!
And I should be clear, when I say “Community”, I don’t mean “people who think the same or share the same perspective”. No, I mean the collective activity of the ethnosphere living in a geographic area.
2. Ungrounded Optimism
The other thing I have noticed is a wild optimism that truckers going to Ottawa are going to make “the” impact and cause the bureaucractic wheel “to change”. This is absurd and I will use an analogy to enumerate what I mean. Going to a Death-Affirming Institution and asking it to affirm Life is akin to going to a graveyard and asking someone buried in one of the plots to help you make dinner. You will leave disappointed.
The truck convoy action is Exciting and Fun and it brings lots of activity as it is one of building life affirming unity (for bodily choice). Howerver, it is certainly not a ’silver bullet’ because the energy is being directed at a failing system.
3. Food Supply Chain and Shortages
You will notice people in fear will project blame. They will blame ”Trudeau”, they will blame “the truckers”, and they will blame “hoarders“ for food shortages. These projections are all absurd. First they are focalized on blaming ”one thing” that is external when the truth is that the old GROCERY STORE FOOD SUPPLY SYSTEM model is incredibly fragile because it is not based in the reality of human existence at this time.
That’s all for now.
Have a wonderful day, Wildflower!
