With Dogwood Avenue having fresh asphalt, people have started using it as a racetrack. In response, some kids have formed their own neighborhood patrol to tell people to slow down.
Overwhelmingly, the “slow, children playing” sign has had great success. However, some people take it upon themselves to use this new tarmac as a race trip.
In response to this flagrant disregard for a “children playing” sign, along with children actually playing, these boys have armed themselves with super soakers!
Word on the street has it that anybody who speeds down this road is going to get hosed.
"If you speed you get sprayed, don't speed!" Says one of our local squirt gun commanders.
These kids take their neighborhood patrol all the way to the end of the block where many of our local young inhabitants have taken it upon themselves to enjoy life on Dogwood free from the dangers of speeding cars hurling debris from the fresh construction or losing a scooter, a shoe, or anything else to these motorized assailants of the speed limit.
If you venture down Dogwood and encounter a “slow” sign, please respect the wishes of our young inhabitants who just want to have fun.
In the name of Good Times, slow down or get hosed!
